A child’s imagination is wonderful, special, and should be nurtured wherever possible. The more they can use their brains to think up exciting facts and explore their own world, the brighter and happier they will be. Kids who are able to use their imagination more will enjoy school more, and therefore enjoy learning. This will lead them to success later on life, and as a parent you can help with this by nurturing their imagination as much as possible. Here are some ways in which to do it.
Encourage Active Pursuits
With a world that is so full of technology that comes to us via screens, it can be tempting to allow children to use the TV, computers, and mobile devices to engage their brains and teach them. Although this is fine in moderation, you should also be encouraging more active pursuits in order to give them a more fully rounded brain boost.
The brain is like a muscle in that when it is not used as much it will shrink. When a child is watching TV, they aren’t using their brains; they are listening to other people’s ideas and not their own. By taking them away from the screen and taking them out to see the real world, perhaps by going for a walk in nature or using Adventure Aquarium coupons for a fun day trip, the child will learn much more.
Let The Child Make Choices
It won’t always be safe or practical to let your child make their own choices, but if it is possible they should be allowed to. It might be a decision as small as which cup they want to drink out of, or it could be a bigger decision, such as what they want to do that day. These choices might not be so difficult for an adult, but for a child they need to use their imagination to find an answer.
They will have to think through each scenario and imagine what might happen if they choose one option over another. This will boost their brain power and help them to make decisions in the future.
Remember, even if their decision-making takes a long time (which it may well do) never force a child to come down on one side or another, and don’t make the choice for them (unless it’s urgent) or change their choice, as this will take away their power and they may not feel comfortable making choices in the future in case they get it wrong.
Participate In Creative Projects
Studies have shown that when parents take part in creative projects with their children, the children are much more keen to try new activities. Their vocabulary will be enhanced too, as they will need to listen to instructions and they can ask questions about what needs to be done. They will be less reticent if their parent is with them.

Whatever you do, make sure it’s an activity that you are both going to enjoy, and truly make the most out of your time together.
