Display and Design:
The J7 2016 is using a metal frame with diamond type finishing, rear panel however is made of plastic but with metallic finishing. This handset is available in 3 different color options. Weight with battery is 166 grams and dimensions are 76.34 x 151.55 x 7.65 (mm). Power button is on the right, volume on the left and at the bottom you will find the primary mic, micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack. This is a dual SIM handset using 2x micro SIM slot with 4G LTE support and there is a separate micro SD card slot (128GB Max).
Memory and Storage:
There is 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. On the first boot you will get 10GB free internal space and about 800 MB to 1000 MB free RAM. App installs on internal storage, there is no option to move to SD card. OTG is supported.
J7 2016 is powered by Samsung Exynos 7870 64 bit octa core processor clocked at 1.6GHz coupled with Mali T830 GPU. Overall performance is smooth, lag free and battery temperature is well under control. Max battery temp I encountered was 35 degrees. Apart from 4G LTE, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth the J7 2016 also comes with built in NFC. You can use the S-Bike mode. Sound is loud and clear, no issues with in-call speaker. I did not face any network issues.
Camera and Battery :
The rear camera is a 13MP shooter with a f/1.9 aperture with LED flash support. Front camera is a 5MP shooter also with f/1.9 aperture and front LED flash. The handset can shoot full HD videos at 30fps.
The 3300 mAh removable battery does an impressive job, also thanks to manual brightness option and Super AMOELD screen – on a full charge you can expect 8 to 16 hours of non-stop moderate to heavy usage.
If you are looking for a handset from a well known brand with good performance, above average camera quality and excellent battery life then the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is a very good option.
