Most people think of a Haunting as a place, or sometimes an object such as a piece of furniture, that is occupied or possessed by Ghosts of spirits. People generally consider a place Haunted if there has been a history of apparitional sightings

1. Borley Rectory (Essex, England):


The ghost of a mournful nun who patrolled the so-called Nun's Walk had often been seen there. Borley Rectory during the 1920s and 1930s, no doubt Borley Rectory the most famous in Britain. Borley Rectory one of the most controversial.




2. The Tower of London (London)

The Tower of London, one of the most famous and well-preserved historical buildings in the world, may also be one of the most haunted. Tower of London one of the wives of Henry VIII, beheaded in the Tower in 1536. Her ghost has been seen on many occasions, sometimes carrying her head, on Tower Green and in the Tower Chapel Royal.

 

 3. Raynham Hall  (Norfolk, England)

One of the most splendid great houses in the Norfolk area, Raynham Hall was the first of its kind in England. Raynham Hall's design abandoned traditions and followed Italian form and plan. It is the home to one of the most famous ghost photos of all time, the Brown Lady.

 

4. The Myrtles Plantation, Louisiana

The Myrtles Plantation was built in 1796 by General David Bradford and called Laurel Grove.Handprints in the mirrors, footsteps on the stairs, mysterious smells, vanishing objects, death by poison, hangings, murder and gunfire,  the Myrtles Plantation in the West Feliciana town of St. Francisville, Louisiana holds the rather dubious record of hosting more ghostly phenomena than just about any other house in the country.


5. Eastern State Penitentiary, Philadelphia

In the historic city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania stands the 11-acre menacing structure that is Eastern State Penitentiary. In 1787, Dr. Benjamin Rush, a member of the Philadelphia Society for Alleviating the Miseries of Public Prisons, presented the idea to create a "true penitentiary", a place of penitence. Its revolutionary system of incarceration, dubbed the Pennsylvania System, originated and encouraged solitary confinement as a form of rehabilitation. On June 1st, 2007 a television show called “Most Haunted” went live to the penitentiary.


6. Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Kentucky 

It has been popularized on television as being one of the "most haunted" hospitals in the eastern United States, Family Channel's Scariest Places On Earth as well as VH1's Celebrity Paranormal Project.In 1910, a wooden two-story hospital was built on the site, which was the highest elevated hill in southern Jefferson County, but with tuberculousis rampant in the area, the building wasn't big enough to house all of the patients. And so a new building was constructed in 1924, and the new Waverly Hospital opened in 1926.Treatment for the dreaded disease was primitive at that time. Without antibiotics, natural cures provided the only available defense.
