How to Watch Marshals: The Yellowstone Spinoff Streaming Right Now

Luke Grimes is back in the Yellowstone universe, and this time he’s trading his Dutton legacy for a badge. Marshals, the newest spinoff from the Yellowstone franchise, launched on CBS and is now streaming on Paramount Plus. If you’ve been waiting for Kayce Dutton to do something different, this is your moment. The show follows Grimes’ character, a former Navy SEAL, as he joins an elite unit of US Marshals to dispense frontier justice across Montana.

The cast brings some familiar faces along for the ride. You’ll spot Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater), Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), and Brecken Merrill (Tate) from the original series. Spencer Hudnut serves as showrunner, with Taylor Sheridan pulling strings as an executive producer. So the creative DNA is definitely there.

Where You Can Actually Watch It

Here’s where things get a bit fragmented. If you’ve got cable, CBS is your straightforward option. Episode 7 airs on Sunday, April 12. No fuss, just turn it on.

For cord-cutters, Paramount Plus is the primary destination, but your viewing experience depends on which subscription tier you’re paying for. If you’ve sprung for Paramount Plus Premium, you can watch Marshals live as it airs on your local CBS station. That’s the premium experience, literally and figuratively. If you’re on the cheaper Essential plan, you’ll have to wait until Monday to stream the episode on demand. It’s a reasonable tradeoff if you’re patient, but it does create a waiting period that can feel awkward if everyone else is talking about last night’s episode.

There’s also the live TV streaming route if you want to avoid Paramount Plus altogether. YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, and DirecTV Stream all carry CBS, so you can catch the show through those services. They’re typically cheaper than traditional cable but still cost more than basic streaming subscriptions.

The Paramount Plus Pricing Reality

This is where it gets interesting. After a price bump in early 2026, Paramount Plus Essential runs $9 per month or $90 annually if you’re willing to commit. The ad-free Premium tier costs $14 monthly or $140 a year. That Premium subscription buys you downloads, more Showtime content, and crucially, live local CBS access for shows like Marshals.

The pricing structure reveals something telling about how streaming services want us to consume content. Pay less and wait, or pay more and watch live. It’s the streaming equivalent of first-class boarding, and frankly, most casual viewers won’t find the difference worth the extra $5 a month.

What Makes This Worth Your Time

Beyond just being another Yellowstone spinoff, Marshals actually offers something the original series didn’t quite nail. Taking Kayce out of the ranch drama and into federal law enforcement gives the character room to breathe in a different kind of story. The Western trappings are still there, but the structure feels fresher.

If you’re already subscribed to Paramount Plus, you might as well give it a shot. The service also carries 1883 and 1923, the other Yellowstone prequels, so you’re getting a full universe to explore. That’s more value than it first appears, especially if you’re deep into the franchise.

The question isn’t really whether Marshals is worth watching. It’s whether you’re willing to pay for another streaming subscription or live with the Monday-delay inconvenience just to keep up with the Dutton saga.
